Thank you to everyone who took part in my ‘Have A Heart’ charity golf day and gala dinner at Close House on 15th May 2025.
I hope you enjoyed the day as much as myself
The camaraderie on the course was great to see and you helped in no small part to raise almost £200K during the day and the Gala Dinner in the evening.
As you will have heard from my speech on the evening, this year’s ‘Have A Heart’ is particularly poignant to me. You will also have seen the video of my daughter, Kiera, who has benefitted from the wonderful lifesaving surgery that is performed every day in the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. Children from all around the UK are treated at this centre of excellence.
The funds raised this year will help to develop cutting-edge treatment and machines to see problems where previously they would have been too small to detect, early diagnosis is key.
Your continued support means the world to me and to all the children and families that find their lives centred around the Children’s Heart Unit, sometimes for years.
