Have A Heart Celebrity Golf Day and Gala Dinner Raises £200,000
A charity golf day and gala dinner at Close House on 15th May 2025 raised almost £200,000 thanks to the camaraderie and generosity of everyone who took part.

The Sir Graham Wylie Foundation held a celebrity golf day and gala dinner on 15th May 2025 at Close House, raising almost £200,000 through participant donations and the evening’s activities.
“The camaraderie on the course was great to see and you helped in no small part to raise almost £200K,” said Sir Graham.
This year’s event held particular significance, as Sir Graham’s daughter Kiera has benefited from cardiac surgery at the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. Video of her experience was shared during the gala.
Proceeds will support advanced diagnostic equipment and treatment technologies at the Children’s Heart Unit, where early detection remains crucial. The unit treats children from across the United Kingdom.
“Your continued support means the world to me and to all the children and families that find their lives centred around the Children’s Heart Unit.”
The Have a Heart Celebrity Golf Day returns to Close House in 2026, bringing together sporting legends, musicians and household names for a day of golf in aid of the Foundation.
A day like no other
Hosted on one of the North East’s finest courses, the day combines competitive golf with an evening of entertainment and fundraising.
Previous years have seen the event raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for children and young people across the region.
